Chelsea’s Discipline Issues Will Result in Another Heavy FA Fine.

For the second time this season, Chelsea will face an FA hearing and a £25,000 fine.

In the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Chelsea received six bookings from the match referee Chris Kavanagh.

Caicedo, Palmer, Cucurella, Colwill, Neto and Fofana all got their names in the book for dangerous challenges and a 20 man pitch-side scrap involving the players and substitutes from both teams.

It was not only the home side that showed poor discipline, with Williams and Sels both picking up yellow cards along with their coach Espírito Santo. On a season long loan from West Ham, Ward-Prowse picked up a booking before the break and was sent off in the 78th minute for a second yellow.

This fine will be for Chelsea’s failures to control their players, the same charge that the West London club were given earlier this season for picking up eight bookings against Bournemouth. The game saw a Premier League record of 14 yellow cards.

Nicolas Jackson could face consequences for his behaviour in the scrap.

Jackson got himself involved in the additional time brawl on the pitch despite being subbed off for Nkunku in the 81st minute. The Chelsea forward can be seen putting his hand on Morato’s face in the chaos of it all.

Tensions grew from Espírito Santo’s time-wasting in the 13 minutes of stoppage time. Chelsea searched for a winning goal but failed to find it, regardless of their numerical advantage on the pitch.

As well as another large FA fine for the club punishing poor discipline, Jackson could face individual consequences and may miss the Liverpool clash at Anfield

Welsh international Neco Williams gets under Levi Colwill’s skin at The Bridge.

Colwill, who certainly impressed fans during Sunday’s game, was clearly rattled by Williams. The Chelsea defender has written himself into Nottingham Forest’s history with the own-goal sent the team up to the Premier League for the first time in 23 years.

After failing to stop the Wood goal in the 49th minute, Colwill had more run-ins with the Forest defender and Williams posted a cheeky instagram picture after the game of him squaring-up to the Chelsea defender.

Does the Chelsea squad need to show more resilience to avoid picking up yellow cards for bad behaviour on the pitch?
